This is one of our recommended stays in Ushuaia. We visited the end of the world in January 2023 for 2 weeks and Posada del Valle is definitely one of our favourites places to stay.
Location and Facilities
Located in the small peaceful town of Valle de Andorra which is 20 minuets form the down town of Ushuaia, Posada del Valle is a very cute and homely place to spend your time in Ushuaia. This lodge style accommodation has a perfect winter vibe leaving you feel all warm inside when you first lay eyes on it.
This accomodation provides some different style of rooms ranging from private with stunning mountain views or in a dorm with shared facilities. So there are rooms to suite all budgets. The lodge also has a communal kitchen and provides a small continental breakfast. There is also fresh Pizza and Empanadas for sale next door for a very reasonable price!
Activities
This accommodation is perfect for keen hikers as there are two of the most famously done walks right on your door step. Glacier Vinceguerra and Laguna Encantada. What’s the biggest is having the local bus opposite the accomodation which comes very punctuality every half an hour and takes 20-25 minuets to get into the down town. This local bus only costs 47 Argentinean pesos!
Another highlight is that the owner provides transfers to some of the key locations in town like the Tierra del Fuego national park. Also if pre arranged he does airport pick up and drop offs!

The posada is managed by Pablo, a very helpful and friendly Argentinean. He also speaks very good English and is happy to help you with anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Another added bonus of the posada is that it runs all year round making it the perfect stay for the ski season. I can only speak for pictures but this beautiful wooden structured lodge looks stunning covered in snow and seems like the most perfect cosy romantic stay if you come for the season.
This accomodation came to our rescue when we realised we had somehow booked a camp site and not a room. We had no camping gear and needed a place to stay urgently and the room we were provided couldn’t have been any better. It was very cosy with an extremely large comfortable bed. Perfect after a long flight!
